Willie, Mickey, and the Duke (Talkin' Baseball)

NBA on TNT: Charles Barkley laughs at Damon Jones

"OK guys in the truck, we've seen the replay 3 times, now go back to Damon Jones' coat."

NBA on TNT: How will the Pacers replace Reggie Miller?

Long, but hilarious.

"Weight gainer... unopened, obviously."

NBA on TNT: Fashion Fines

"If you had the eel-skinned suit by Craig Sager... $100,000 fine."

NBA on TNT: Lamar Odom learns from Kenny Smith's brother

"Run with scissors"

NBA on TNT: Kenny Smith has his jersey retired

Another great NBA on TNT clip

Charles Barkley and Dancing with the Stars

I love the NBA on TNT... this is so simple, yet so very funny.

Homer Bailey warming up in the bullpen

Another quick video of another fantastic pitching prospect... Homer Bailey of the Cincinnati Reds. He should also be really good, really soon.

Tim Lincecum's Delivery

Video of San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum... remember his name, because he should be up in the Majors real soon.

Joey Gathright can jump high

As found over at The Big Picture.

This is moderately (ok, very) impressive... if only is translated into baseball skills.

Sportscenter Commercial - Big Brother

My favorite all-time Sportscenter commercial.

"Get up, walk it off... your parents signed the permission slip, get up man."

Sportscenter Commercial - Y2K

"FOLLOW ME... FOLLOW ME TO FREEDOM"

Sportscenter Commercial - New Kid out of High School

One of my favorites ever...

"Bottom line, he just came out too soon"

"Next time have some ID"

Sportscenter Commercial - Shue for Steiner

"Maybe we got the better end of the deal"

Sportscenter Commercial - Rookie Hazing

"You don't question tradition"

Gus Johnson announces boxing too

Thanks to The Sports Flow for this, but if you thought Gus Johnson was only good in basketball, well, he can make boxing exciting too.

"WHAT A FIGHT! JEFFREY RESTO! THE HEART OF A LION!"

"Here's to feeling good all the time"

This obviously has nothing to do with sports, but I ran across the video and I just love it. One of my favorite scenes ever from Seinfeld, where Kramer says "Here's to feeling good all the time!" and then proceeds to drink a better with a cigarette in his mouth. Just a classic scene from the best TV show ever.

OT Buzzer Beater Tip in by David Lee

A video from earlier this year with a last second tip-in by David Lee to win the game... but of course, the clip is more famous for the excited yell from Gus Johnson as it goes in. As usual, Gus Johnson makes everything a little better.

Gus Johnson on a call

This video is awful, but it displays the goodness of Gus Johnson, screaming and yelling after a putback dunk. Gus rocks.

Bill Walker eating popcorn on the bench

If this doesn't sum up the NIT, I'm not sure what does.

Marshawn Lynch Highlight Videos

Marshawn Lynch, Cal RB, is projected to most likely be the #2 RB chosen in the Draft, right after Adrian Peterson. Here are some highlight videos:

Dwight Howard Kiss The Rim Dunk

AKA he was robbed in the dunk contest. This would have been really sweet.

Nerf Basketball Dunk Contest

This really probably shouldn't be as interesting as it is.

Nerf Basketball Video

I found this over at Signal to Noise... this video is just awesome, especially since I spent the better part of my youth playing nerf basketball.

Sidney Rice Highlight Video

Here's a nice little video of Sidney Rice from South Carolina, expected to be one of the top 6 WR taken in the NFL Draft, with a shot at being taken in the first round.

Barkley vs. Bavetta Race Video

The highlight of most people's (including mine) All-Star weekend... race between Charles Barkley and Dick Bavetta. Barkley won out, but the whole incident from the start was just absolutely hilarious. Here's the video of the race.

Pool Trick Shot

This is just one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time.

Last 40 seconds of UCLA vs. Gonzaga

This is the video from the 2006 Sweet 16 game between UCLA and Gonzaga, and it very well be my most favorite video ever. To give you an idea of how good this ending was, even Len Elmore got excited. That's tough to beat.

Dwyane Wade Shoulder Injury

Here's a video of the injury that sidelined Dwyane Wade with injury, effectively burying the Heat in the process. Hate to see this happen to a great player, and from all accounts, a great guy.

Gonzaga over Florida - 1999 NCAA Tournament

More from Gus Johnson:

"Shannon, from the CORNEEEEEEEERRRRRR... AND IT'S OVER. GONZAGA. THE SLIPPER STILL FITS!"

Adam Morrison Game-Winner Against Oklahoma St.

This is from 2005, a meeting between Gonzaga and Oklahoma St., where Adam Morrison hit a late 3 to give the Zags the lead and the win. The thing I really like about this is the commentators... Gus Johnson and Bill Raftery. Here's the patented Gus Johnson call:

"MORRISON...6... FIIIIIIIIIREEEEESSS....OOOOHHHH HE BANKED IN A 3!"

Shaq, LeBron, and Dwight Howard Dancing

Found on We Are the Postmen, this is a great video, and really the perfect showcase why even though Shaq's never been on any of my favorite teams or anything like that, he's always been one of my favorite NBA players. You could just tell all weekend long that he was just out there having fun, and it was all very entertaining. Hopefully when he retires he'll do some type of basketball broadcasting, because he's one of the most entertaining guys in the NBA (though Kazaam still sucked).

Gilbert Arenas uses the trampoline to dunk

From Deadspin via The 700 Level. This is why we all love Gilbert Arenas, and why the Wizards brass must just shake their heads and cringe sometimes.

Princeton 43, UCLA 41

"What makes the NCAA Tournament what it is? Coach Dean Smith would say, 'I could never beat Jack Nicklaus for 18 holes,' but he also said that, 'on that given day, at that given moment, he may be able to beat Jack on 1 hole. Enter Princeton."
- Gus Johnson

Dwayne Jarrett Highlight Video

Here's a nice highlight video of Dwayne Jarrett, the WR from USC, expected to be a first round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft and one of the first WRs off of the board. Jarrett set Pac-10 records for receiving TDs, so um, he's pretty good at football. As you'll see.

Noel Devine Highlight Video

I read an extremely interesting article by Stewart Mandel the other day about High School RB Noel Devine. Devine is one of the most talented backs in the country, but has not signed anywhere yet and may not even be eligible to play in college next year. Anyway, you can read the article and watch the video below, and you'll see why scouts drool.

"But He Has A Bud Light"

My favorite Super Bowl commercial from 2007:

Friday, February 2, 2007

Brady Quinn Highlight Video

Here's a nice little highlight video of Brady Quinn from Notre Dame. Quinn will almost certainly be the first or second QB taken in the NFL Draft, depending on whether a team picking a QB prefers a more seasoned Quinn or the more "toolsy" JaMarcus Russell. Either way, Quinn projects to be a very solid NFL QB.

Conan O'Brien Playing 1864 Style Baseball

Deadspin brought this classic video back to my attention, and it really is very funny. Sure, it's Conan O'Brien, but he's playing sports and that's good enough for me to fit within this site. It's Conan going somewhere to play a game of baseball... only everything is done with 1864 rules. It really is quite amusing.

Another great hockey goal

This one from Robbie Bina of the University of North Dakota, who scored on about a 180-footer. Just a part of the weekend sweep of the top-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Sunday, January 28, 2007

Scottie Pippen Video

I came across this over at TrueHoop, and it was too cool not to post. In my opinion, Scottie is one of the most underrated NBA players ever, so it's cool to watch a video like this to really display a lot of his great skills.

Duke vs. Clemson Clock Error

As I first saw on Deadspin, this is the video that basically shows what the ACC later confirmed... that there was a large clock error at the end of the Duke/Clemson game, won by Duke 68-66. Watch the video and see it if you haven't already... it's pretty egregious.

The Best High School Football Game Ever

This video has made the rounds a little bit, but if you haven't seen it yet, you really have to. It's the end of a high school football game from 1994 between Plano East and John Tyler High... really, there's no words I can use to describe the awesomeness, not only of the highlights themselves but of the announcers reactions to everything. Just a quality, quality video.

"God Bless those kids... I'm sick, I wanna throw up."

Wednesday, January 24, 2007

Joe Mauer TV Commercial

Here's a Minnesota Twins-Area commercial featuring Joe Mauer doing his best Mean Joe Greene impersonation... basically, Mauer is awesome. And that's the moral of the story.

Tuesday, January 23, 2007

ESPN Bloopers

Here's a great video with ESPN bloopers... including one of my absolute favorites, Charlie Steiner cracking up after the Carl Lewis National Anthem. "Francis Scott 'Off' Key" remaining one of the great all-time lines in Sportscenter history... ah the days when Sportscenter was good. I miss those days.

Super Bowl Shuffle

With the Bears clinching their spot in the Super Bowl, I thought it'd be good to have a blast from the past, a little memento from the 1985 Bears team that won the Super Bowl, and in the process put out the Super Bowl Shuffle. So here is the video of that.

Sunday, January 21, 2007

Pistol Pete Maravich Highlight Video

Here's a video of one of the most exciting players in NBA history, as well as a guy with one of the best nicknames in NBA History... Pistol Pete Maravich. This is a really interesting highlight video featuring footage of Maravich in the NBA and in the NCAAs. It's just a great display of impossible shots, dazzling passes, and dribbling exhibitions on, by my count, the 39th best NBA player ever. Pete Maravich everybody!

Jack Buck Video Montage

I found this nice little video compiling a lot of the great work from the late, great Jack Buck. Famous calls include:

"Go crazy folks, go crazy!"
"This is gonna be a homerun! Unbelievable! A homerun for Gibson! I don't believe what I just saw!"
"And then baseball, like the rose beneath the April snow, will force its way to the front again, and we'll have the fever once more."

Unfortunately, embedding has been disabled, but it's still absolutely worth going there to watch the 8 minute video of a legend.

Chris Lofton Game-Winner against Winthrop

Personally, I love the NCAA Tournament more than anything else, and a big part is the thought that anything can happen, and quite often usually does. Oftentimes the exciting part is the little guy hitting the game-winner to beat the favorite, but in this case it was Chris Lofton of the 2nd seeded Tennessee Volunteers taking out the 15th seeded Winthrop Eagles with his game-winner with 0.4 seconds left to end the Winthrop dream in the first round of the 2006 NCAA Tournament.

Andre Iguodala in the 2006 Dunk Contest

And Nate Robinson beat this great display of dunks? Iguodala was robbed!

Tuesday, January 16, 2007

Adrian Peterson Highlight Video

With the NFL Draft a few months away, I'll probably be posting some of these highlight videos, because it's just interesting to see what the next wave of college players are capable of. A few days ago I post the Ted Ginn Highlight Video, today its Adrian "AD" Peterson. Peterson is the top running back in the draft and should be among the top 10 selections in April. He's had some injury problems but he's a great RB prospect.

Len Bias Tribute Video

Here's an excellent video with highlights from Len Bias, who of course starred at Maryland before tragically overdosing on cocaine and dying less than 48 hours after being drafted second by the Boston Celtics in the 1986 draft.

Sunday, January 14, 2007

Larry Bird Highlight Video

Here's just a nice compilation video of Larry Bird and some of his great plays. Bird was one of the best and most interesting players to watch because he truly had the all-around game. He was an incredible shooter, good rebounder, great passer, and crafty defender. Definitely one of the top 5 players to ever play in the NBA.

Saturday, January 13, 2007

Ted Ginn Highlight Tape

Yes, I think Ted Ginn might have helped out the OSU offense a little bit against Florida if he hadn't gotten hurt. Here is over 7 minutes of Ginn highlights, probably the most exciting college football player in the NCAA last year. Enjoy.

Jim Mora - Playoffs?

Still my favorite coaching rant of all-time, the famous Jim Mora talking about the Colts and the playoffs. This is a little longer version, so there's even more goodness here.

"Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs. Are you kidding me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game."

Best Goal Ever

I admittedly don't really like hockey at all, but this video was too good not to post. About a week ago in a game, Patrick Stefan, who plays for the Dallas Stars, had a shot at an open net goal towards the end of the game that would have given Dallas the 2-goal lead. He missed it. After the miss, the Edmonton Oilers got the puck up the ice, and Ales Hemsky scored the game-tying goal with 2 seconds remaining for Edmonton. One of the wackiest plays I've ever seen.

2006 NCAA Basketball One Shining Moment

As you probably heard a little something about, Florida won the BCS National Championship game last night, so i figured it was appropriate to post the "One Shining Moment" video from last year's NCAA Basketball Tournament, also, of course, won by the Florida Gators. These videos are another great part of the NCAA Tournament... a nice 3 to 4 minute clip with lots of good highlights from the Tourney. Really an excellent way to conclude the Tournament.

Michael Jordan and Chicago Bulls win 6th NBA Title

The title pretty much explains it, but it's the last 40 or so seconds of the 1998 NBA Finals, culminating with [spoiler, in case you've never watched basketball] Jordan with the slight pushoff, and then draining the shot to give the Bulls the lead on what was thought might be the last shot of his NBA career.

ESPN Sports Montage

This is perhaps my favorite sports video, so I'll post it first. It's a Sports Montage video that was done by ESPN, and it includes lots and lots of great footage from the last century of sports, with "Dream On" by Aerosmith playing in the background. Great video, and one I really enjoy.

Welcome Earthlings

Hello everyone! You may know me as the writer of Complete Sports and Thank You Brian Sabean, but this is an idea I had that is a little different.

All the time I come across cool sports videos, either stuff someone has put together, or just videos of past sports events where it's fun to look at the video again. In the past I've just posted some of these on those other blogs, but I try not to do it too often. However, there's still obviously lots of stuff I'd like to post because I found it interesting, which leads to the creation of this blog.

So, I'll try to get up a different video I find interesting each day, and hopefully others will enjoy them as much as I do. If not, well, you suck. Just kidding. But seriously, hopefully you enjoy them.
