Deadspin brought this classic video back to my attention, and it really is very funny. Sure, it's Conan O'Brien, but he's playing sports and that's good enough for me to fit within this site. It's Conan going somewhere to play a game of baseball... only everything is done with 1864 rules. It really is quite amusing.

Another great hockey goal
This one from Robbie Bina of the University of North Dakota, who scored on about a 180-footer. Just a part of the weekend sweep of the top-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Scottie Pippen Video
I came across this over at TrueHoop, and it was too cool not to post. In my opinion, Scottie is one of the most underrated NBA players ever, so it's cool to watch a video like this to really display a lot of his great skills.

Duke vs. Clemson Clock Error
As I first saw on Deadspin, this is the video that basically shows what the ACC later confirmed... that there was a large clock error at the end of the Duke/Clemson game, won by Duke 68-66. Watch the video and see it if you haven't already... it's pretty egregious.

The Best High School Football Game Ever
This video has made the rounds a little bit, but if you haven't seen it yet, you really have to. It's the end of a high school football game from 1994 between Plano East and John Tyler High... really, there's no words I can use to describe the awesomeness, not only of the highlights themselves but of the announcers reactions to everything. Just a quality, quality video.
"God Bless those kids... I'm sick, I wanna throw up."

Joe Mauer TV Commercial
Here's a Minnesota Twins-Area commercial featuring Joe Mauer doing his best Mean Joe Greene impersonation... basically, Mauer is awesome. And that's the moral of the story.

ESPN Bloopers
Here's a great video with ESPN bloopers... including one of my absolute favorites, Charlie Steiner cracking up after the Carl Lewis National Anthem. "Francis Scott 'Off' Key" remaining one of the great all-time lines in Sportscenter history... ah the days when Sportscenter was good. I miss those days.

Super Bowl Shuffle
With the Bears clinching their spot in the Super Bowl, I thought it'd be good to have a blast from the past, a little memento from the 1985 Bears team that won the Super Bowl, and in the process put out the Super Bowl Shuffle. So here is the video of that.

Pistol Pete Maravich Highlight Video
Here's a video of one of the most exciting players in NBA history, as well as a guy with one of the best nicknames in NBA History... Pistol Pete Maravich. This is a really interesting highlight video featuring footage of Maravich in the NBA and in the NCAAs. It's just a great display of impossible shots, dazzling passes, and dribbling exhibitions on, by my count, the 39th best NBA player ever. Pete Maravich everybody!

Jack Buck Video Montage
I found this nice little video compiling a lot of the great work from the late, great Jack Buck. Famous calls include:
"Go crazy folks, go crazy!"
"This is gonna be a homerun! Unbelievable! A homerun for Gibson! I don't believe what I just saw!"
"And then baseball, like the rose beneath the April snow, will force its way to the front again, and we'll have the fever once more."
Unfortunately, embedding has been disabled, but it's still absolutely worth going there to watch the 8 minute video of a legend.

Chris Lofton Game-Winner against Winthrop
Personally, I love the NCAA Tournament more than anything else, and a big part is the thought that anything can happen, and quite often usually does. Oftentimes the exciting part is the little guy hitting the game-winner to beat the favorite, but in this case it was Chris Lofton of the 2nd seeded Tennessee Volunteers taking out the 15th seeded Winthrop Eagles with his game-winner with 0.4 seconds left to end the Winthrop dream in the first round of the 2006 NCAA Tournament.

Andre Iguodala in the 2006 Dunk Contest
And Nate Robinson beat this great display of dunks? Iguodala was robbed!

Adrian Peterson Highlight Video
With the NFL Draft a few months away, I'll probably be posting some of these highlight videos, because it's just interesting to see what the next wave of college players are capable of. A few days ago I post the Ted Ginn Highlight Video, today its Adrian "AD" Peterson. Peterson is the top running back in the draft and should be among the top 10 selections in April. He's had some injury problems but he's a great RB prospect.

Len Bias Tribute Video
Here's an excellent video with highlights from Len Bias, who of course starred at Maryland before tragically overdosing on cocaine and dying less than 48 hours after being drafted second by the Boston Celtics in the 1986 draft.

Larry Bird Highlight Video
Here's just a nice compilation video of Larry Bird and some of his great plays. Bird was one of the best and most interesting players to watch because he truly had the all-around game. He was an incredible shooter, good rebounder, great passer, and crafty defender. Definitely one of the top 5 players to ever play in the NBA.

Ted Ginn Highlight Tape
Yes, I think Ted Ginn might have helped out the OSU offense a little bit against Florida if he hadn't gotten hurt. Here is over 7 minutes of Ginn highlights, probably the most exciting college football player in the NCAA last year. Enjoy.

Jim Mora - Playoffs?
Still my favorite coaching rant of all-time, the famous Jim Mora talking about the Colts and the playoffs. This is a little longer version, so there's even more goodness here.
"Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs. Are you kidding me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game."

Best Goal Ever
I admittedly don't really like hockey at all, but this video was too good not to post. About a week ago in a game, Patrick Stefan, who plays for the Dallas Stars, had a shot at an open net goal towards the end of the game that would have given Dallas the 2-goal lead. He missed it. After the miss, the Edmonton Oilers got the puck up the ice, and Ales Hemsky scored the game-tying goal with 2 seconds remaining for Edmonton. One of the wackiest plays I've ever seen.

2006 NCAA Basketball One Shining Moment
As you probably heard a little something about, Florida won the BCS National Championship game last night, so i figured it was appropriate to post the "One Shining Moment" video from last year's NCAA Basketball Tournament, also, of course, won by the Florida Gators. These videos are another great part of the NCAA Tournament... a nice 3 to 4 minute clip with lots of good highlights from the Tourney. Really an excellent way to conclude the Tournament.

Michael Jordan and Chicago Bulls win 6th NBA Title
The title pretty much explains it, but it's the last 40 or so seconds of the 1998 NBA Finals, culminating with [spoiler, in case you've never watched basketball] Jordan with the slight pushoff, and then draining the shot to give the Bulls the lead on what was thought might be the last shot of his NBA career.

ESPN Sports Montage
This is perhaps my favorite sports video, so I'll post it first. It's a Sports Montage video that was done by ESPN, and it includes lots and lots of great footage from the last century of sports, with "Dream On" by Aerosmith playing in the background. Great video, and one I really enjoy.
Welcome Earthlings
Hello everyone! You may know me as the writer of Complete Sports and Thank You Brian Sabean, but this is an idea I had that is a little different.
All the time I come across cool sports videos, either stuff someone has put together, or just videos of past sports events where it's fun to look at the video again. In the past I've just posted some of these on those other blogs, but I try not to do it too often. However, there's still obviously lots of stuff I'd like to post because I found it interesting, which leads to the creation of this blog.
So, I'll try to get up a different video I find interesting each day, and hopefully others will enjoy them as much as I do. If not, well, you suck. Just kidding. But seriously, hopefully you enjoy them.
